Plastics For many years, 3M has been selling plastic production by-products intended for recycling. The scrap is generated at various plants and results in over 75 million pounds of plastic being recycled annually. Film Scrap The film scrap generated from various plants is sold under contracts that ensure confidential destruction of material and firm pricing. Polyester Plant Scrap: This commodity is offered under contract to major recyclers who have the ability to process up to 6 million pounds of scrap each year while meeting confidentiality agreements. Polypropylene Plant Scrap: The same provisions apply. Molded Parts These are sold under contract to major recyclers with the ability to handle up to 1 million pounds of scrap per year. Confidentiality applies here also. Surplus Raw Materials These may be overstock materials sometimes resulting from discontinued products. |
