  • Yes. Our wrapping materials are made and tested to withstand the elements. You can help protect the beauty and life of your wrap by storing your vehicle inside when possible, and regular and thorough cleaning.
  • Car wrap film should receive the same care as car paint. Regular cleaning is vital, as dirt will get stuck to the vehicle. We recommend routine trips to a brushless car wash (with no hot wax or wax option) or wash carefully by hand using a mild detergent with no additives such as wax. Dry thoroughly to avoid spotting.
  • Yes. When removed within the 3M warranty period, they are guaranteed to remove cleanly. If any residue remains, it is easily cleaned off. Professional removal by a 3M Authorized installer is recommended.
  • Removal within the wraps warranty period is very unlikely to cause any damage. Areas that have been covered by the wrap material may in fact appear more vibrant and glossier having been protected from the elements by the wrap. However, poorly cured resprays are more vulnerable so always consult the installer if you have had a respray. Professional removal by a 3M Authorized installer is recommended.

    3M™ Wrap Film Vehicle Owner Warranty
    3M designs, formulates and manufactures 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 for optimum performance and durability. The 3M commitment to quality is the foundation for the warranty coverage we provide.

    Limited Warranty and Limited Remedy
    The following warranty is only valid in the United States and Canada.

    3M warrants that applied 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 will be free of defects in materials and manufacture – including yellowing, bubbling or cracking. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by misuse, accident, misapplication or ordinary wear, nor does it apply to dents caused by physical impact of rocks or road debris. Warranty coverage does not include paint pull during film removal process. This warranty is only provided to the original consumer purchaser and is not transferable.

    Implied Warranty Limitation:
    All implied warranties and conditions, including but not limited to the implied warranty or condition of merchantability, the implied warranty or condition of fitness for a particular purpose, and any implied warranty or condition arising out of a course of dealing or of performance, custom or usage of trade, are limited in duration to the applicable warranty time period. Some states’ jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

    Limitation of Liability:

No special maintenance is required but if you would like to wax your vehicle, use waxes that do not contain dyes, abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds. 3M recommends 3M™ Performance Finish when waxing your car. After waxing your car, you can remove any wax build-up along film edges with a lint-free cloth.     Limited Warranty and Limited Remedy

  • 3M Automotive Window Films are designed to reduce the amount of solar heat transmission through window glass by increasing the solar reflection (not necessarily visible reflection) and solar absorption through the glass.
  • Nothing completely stops fading. 3M Window Films are designed to help reduce the major causes of fading (ultra violet light, visible light, and solar heat), thus prolonging the life of your furnishings, perhaps as much as two to five times. Generally, ultra violet (UV) is approximately 40% of the cause, visible light is about 25%, and heat about 25%. The remaining 10% can be attributed to humidity, pollutants, interior lights, dye stability, and more.
  • After thirty (30) days, you may clean 3M™ Films using normal household cleaning solutions, including ammonia-based products: e.g., Windex, and a soft, lint-free cloth or towel. You may also use a squeegee to clean the films. Abrasive products which would scratch or damage the film should not be used.

Moreover, while this warranty will cover and replace the defective product itself regardless of where the product is installed on a vehicle, the consumer will hold harmless against any and all liability, loss, and expense arising out of an illegal application of the product. The warranty covers the application of 3M Automotive Window Films. Seller reserves the right to test any films under warranty services.

    The warranty is VOID if the product has been subjected to abuse or improper care. Except for the obligation to replace defective film and reapply film as described above, Seller shall not be liable in either tort or contract for any loss or damage, direct, indirect, special, consequential, or incidental, arising out of the use or inability to use this product.     • Cleaning with strongly alkaline, acidic, or alcoholic cleaning agents should be avoided, as they may permanently damage the film.
    • Do NOT use abrasive cleaning pads, brushes, and similar products as doing so will permanently damage the film.

  • After film installation, wait one week before waxing your vehicle to help ensure the film has built the proper level of adhesion. No special maintenance is required, but 3M recommends the following products for users who wish to wax their 3M™ Protection Wrap Film:


    • 3M™ Perfect-It™ Show Car Paste Wax (PN39526) can be applied after film installation. Users should then regularly wash and recoat the surface going forward.
    • Alternatively, 3M™ Ceramic Coating or 3M™ Ceramic Boost can applied be for additional hydrophobicity, stain resistance, and easy clean features.
    • Do NOT use waxes containing dyes, abrasive polishes, and/or rubbing compounds. The abrasive particles will damage the film surface and result in a loss of surface quality. Users can remove any wax build-up along film edges with a lint-free cloth. Visit www.3M.com/automotive to order 3M’s car wash soap, waxes, polishes and high-performance detailing cloths.
    • Do NOT wash the vehicle until 72 hours after installation. Hand wash the vehicle whenever possible. If it must go through a car wash, choose a touchless option as brush car washes may dull and scratch the film as well as lift the edge of the film. Loose film could tear away from a moving vehicle. After washing, check the entire film installation carefully for edge lifting. Return to the installer to repair, remove, or replace damaged film

  • Yes, but 3M recommends hand washing whenever possible. If a pressure washer is to be used, there are strict guidelines that need to be followed. Aggressive washing can damage the film, with excessive pressure forcing water underneath the film, weakening the adhesive’s bond to the paint surface, causing the film to lift or curl. These problems are magnified by wind. To avoid edge lifting or other damage to the film:


    • Use a spray nozzle with a minimum 40 degree or wider spray pattern.
    • Ensure the spray nozzle includes a nozzle protector (tip guard).
    • Use a maximum pressure of 1,200 psi (80 bar).
    • If the system is heated, limit the water temperature to 140°F (60°C) or less.
    • Hold the nozzle at least 12 in. (30 cm) away from and perpendicular (90 degrees +/- 10) to the film, or a minimum of 39 in. (1 m) away from the film at a 60º angle, or higher.
    • Do NOT direct the water stream at between 0° to 60° relative to the edge of the film

  • Wash and dry the vehicle in a shaded and/or protected area. Dry the car quickly after cleaning to help prevent hard water spots/chlorine stains. Applying a coating of liquid wax after cleaning also helps prevent hard water spot/chlorine stains.
