Highlights
  • HIGH-STRENGTH BONDING: Made to replace mechanical fasteners and rivets when bonding dissimilar materials like plastics, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), sheet molding compound (SMC), aluminum, steel, coated metal, and wood
  • VERSATILE APPLICATIONS: This single component, moisture-curing sealant allows design flexibility that simplifies panel bonding, metal framework, vehicle flooring attachment, and transportation manufacturing
  • PAINTABLE IN MINUTES: Forms a skin that can be painted on in just 50-60 minutes
  • WEATHER RESISTANT: A distinct ability to withstand the elements allows it to excel in challenging outdoor industrial, transportation, and construction environments between -40 °F (-40 °C) and 194 °F (90 °C)
  • FLEXIBLE BONDS: Mid-range hardness balances tensile strength and elasticity to absorb stress caused by shock, vibration, swelling and shrinking

3M™ Polyurethane Adhesive Sealant 560 is a moisture-curing sealant that forms flexible, weather-resistant bonds. This single-component adhesive bonds dissimilar materials including plastics, sheet molding compound, aluminum, steel, coated metal, and wood in temperatures ranging from -40 °F (-40 °C) to 194 °F (90 °C). Polyurethane sealants perform well in challenging industrial, transportation, and construction settings by creating durable elastomeric bonds that seal against the elements. To keep the job moving, this adhesive sealant can be painted over as soon as it is applied, forming a skin after 50-60 minutes. High tensile strength, weather-resistance, and mid-range hardness allow 3M™ Polyurethane Adhesive Sealant 560 to excel in applications such as exterior panel bonding, vehicle flooring, and transportation manufacturing.

Creates High Strength Elastomeric Bond
Engineered for high performance, 3M™ Polyurethane Adhesive Sealant 560 (PDF, 373.52 Kb) is a single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane sealant used to bond a wide variety of materials, including plastics, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), sheet molding compound (SMC), aluminum, steel, coated metal and wood. It exhibits high tensile strength, mid-range Shore A Hardness and high modulus in a wide variety of extreme service environments. Available in cartridge, sausage pack and drum volumes to meet your application needs.

Recommended Applications

  • Panel bonding
  • Attaching exterior panels and metal framework
  • Vehicle flooring attachment
  • Transportation manufacturing (bus, rail, truck, trailer)
  • Replacement of mechanical fasteners in many situations

Paintable after Skin Forms for Improved Appearance
3M™ Polyurethane Adhesive Sealant 560 offers an alternative to mechanical fasteners and can replace rivets in some applications. It will bond dissimilar substrates and a wide selection of materials. This adhesive will perform in temperatures ranging from -40°F/-40°C to 194°F/90°C. Once skin forms (50-60 minutes), the sealant can be painted to improve the final finish.

Polyurethane sealants provide strong, flexible durable elastomeric bonds that seal against the elements.
