3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Flexible Acrylic Adhesive DP8625NS is a black, non-sag, low odor, two-part acrylic adhesive with non-flammable classification. This high-elongation acrylic adhesive with structural strength is ideal for bonding dissimilar materials, thin panel applications where bondline read-through is a concern, or any other application where a flexible bond is needed.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Flexible Acrylic Adhesive DP8625NS provides elasticity to accommodate different thermal expansion rates, such as in a polycarbonate window

Structural Strength with Urethane Flexibility
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Flexible Acrylic Adhesive DP8625NS is a structural strength adhesive combining the fast cure and minimal surface preparation of an acrylic with the high flexibility and elongation commonly found in urethanes or sealants. This black, non-sag, low odor, two-part acrylic adhesive enables the use of thinner panels by mitigating the effects of bondline read-through and cure shrinkage. It exhibits greater than 200% elongation and withstands the stresses caused by materials having dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion. This adhesive requires minimal surface prep and has no GHS08 Health Hazard classification. It contains 250 micron (0.010 inch) spacer beads. This adhesive has a 23 minute work life with 28 minute time to handling strength and bonds with minimal surface preparation, even to slightly oily surfaces.

Recommended Applications

  • Dissimilar material bonding
  • Thin panel applications where bond line read-through is a concern
  • Applications requiring high bond elongation and elasticity
  • Transportation, rail, signage and architectural panel assembly
  • Manufacturing environments where workplace safety regarding exposure to odors, toxicological hazards and flammable substances is of heightened importance

When using a Duo-Pak (DP) size adhesive, rely on 3M dispensing equipment for convenient and accurate metering, mixing and dispensing.

Easy Adhesion with Acrylic
Acrylic adhesives are two-part methyl methacrylate adhesives (MMA) that provide excellent bond strength and durability. Often referred to as epoxy adhesives or epoxy glue, acrylics actually belong to a separate chemical family with their own unique characteristics. Acrylic glues have several features that make them easier to use, including a much faster cure speed, higher tolerance for oily or unprepared bonding surfaces and the ability to bond a wide variety of materials, including nearly all plastics. Newer acrylic adhesive formulations are room temperature stable with a long shelf life.
