3M™ Branch Mini-Clamp Link Connector, 38A Series works with 3M Mini-Clamp plug connectors to branch from main bus lines to sensors or other components in a system. Requiring no special tools for assembly, the connector provides a detachable mechanism with the 3M Mini-Clamp plug as a T-branch connection for simplicity and additional flexibility in system design. The branching function allows for a shorter direct-to-network connection which helps to reduce cable usage and network latencies. The connector supports trunk line wire sizes 20-18 AWG for round cables and 20-16 AWG for 2.54mm pitch flat cables.
All 3M Branch Mini-Clamp Link Connectors feature Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC) termination technology. Invented by 3M in 1961, the IDC method allows technicians to terminate multiple wires simultaneously without wire stripping for fast, reliable installation and maintenance in the field.
Use the 3M™ Branch Mini-Clamp Link Connector, 38A Series to connect detachable wire-to-wire connections from main bus or trunk lines anywhere in the system by using a T-branch to connect to additional sensors or components – save space, simplify installation, and significantly reduce longer lengths of wiring back to terminal blocks or a control unit.
3M Branch Mini-Clamp Link Connector, 38A Series supports wire sizes 20 to 18 AWG for round cable and wire sizes 20 to 16 AWG with 2.54 mm pitch for flat cables used in low power or signal applications. The connectors feature color-coding to easily identify the connector required depending on wire size. The 3M Mini-Clamp plugs connecting into the 3M Branch Mini-Clamp connectors support even smaller wire sizes, as small as 30 AWG, for the branch lines.
