Similar to 3M™ Electrically Conductive Single-Sided Tape 1050TC Series, but with a black conductive coating

3M™ Electrically Conductive Single-Sided Tape 1020BC Series is an XYZ-axis electrically conductive pressure sensitive adhesive (CPSA) tape that helps enable devices to meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements. It consists of a conductive black copper foil backing, a conductive acrylic adhesive layer and a polyester (PET) release liner. This black copper foil tape provides excellent XYZ-axis-based conductivity, reliable contacts to small-size grounding areas and excellent EMI shielding and electrical reliability over time. The thin profile makes it a great option for applications with less Z-space. It offers high adhesion and good grounding performance to many surface types.

Usage spotlight: display chip on flex shielding
Vivid electronic displays use chip on flex (COF) when the display driver is mounted directly to a FPC. COF speeds up the display response time as it shortens the signal path, but it leaves the COF vulnerable to EMI.

Help protect the chip on flex circuits from EMI noise by shielding EMI with a high-performing, conformable, thin-profile, copper foil tape — 3M™ Electrically Conductive Single-Sided Tape 1020BC Series.

The adhesive tack helps overcome stress following lamination and helps prevents lifting issues

The thin profile helps the tape conform around curved edges
