3M™ Microfinishing Film Roll 382L is fast-cutting and delivers precise, consistent, close-tolerance finishes. Micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is resin-bonded to a durable polyester film backing. A friction grip coating on the backing lends slip resistance. This abrasive roll is ideally suited for precision finishing of cylindrical surfaces like automotive camshafts and crankshafts.

The tough, 6 MIL, Type 2 polyester film backing on this high performance abrasive is waterproof, tear-resistant and its friction grip coating lends slip resistance. Micron-graded premium aluminum oxide mineral is uniformly distributed over the backing in grades from 15 to 80. A dense closed coat construction provides an aggressive cut for the finest finishes possible.

Quality control for surface finish parameters on automotive camshafts, crankshafts and transmission parts is paramount, so we designed Type 2 microfinishing films in a range of colors — reflective of each grade — for added value, helping reduce the risk for error.
