The Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet is a soft, springy, non-woven sheet that offers a high degree of conformability for final-step, satin finishing. The pliable, open web is an ideal medium for use with compounds to help generate a uniform finish.

Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet

The thick, open-web fibers of our Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet are buoyant, flexible and responsive. This means the Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet will finish consistently without gouging, marring or damaging the surface. It delivers a nice scratch pattern when used appropriately with a compound. Customarily, when removing surface imperfections — like bubbles or contaminants — from substrates like wood, a multi-step process occurs. First, a tough abrasive aggressively sands and abrades the surface, so the porosity of the surface is reduced. This helps with even application of a lacquer later on. Then, after achieving the desired finish and removing imperfections, a polishing abrasive helps to infuse the substrate with a lasting glow. A satin polish, for example, will likely fall somewhere in between a flat or glossy appearance. Our Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet delivers during the second stage: the polishing phase.

In addition to being flexible and buoyant, our Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet holds polishes and compounds and distributes them evenly while working the surface. Talc is incorporated into the non-woven fibers of our Scotch-Brite™ Super Polish Sheet to enhance its polishing capability. As the fibers wear, fresh talc is exposed to provide a consistent finish throughout the life of the product. In woodworking, this material can be used with polish to create a satin finish in topcoat rubbing applications. The versatile sheet can be custom cut and used by hand for precise control, with a hand block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander to finish large areas. As it comes in sheet form, this product can be cut and shaped to meet specific project requirements.
