Pin 14 with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 is a temporary-fixturing windshield adhesive part used to locate and hold the position of the windshield during the installation process. 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 is a 0.5 mm thick, high-density, double-coated acrylic foam tape commonly used for attachment of badges, mechanically assisted narrow moldings, window lace and other lightweight exterior automotive trim. The high-density foam core and polyethylene liner enhance the die-cuttability of this tape.

An excellent choice for attaching lighter moldings, trims, nameplates and emblems to automotive surfaces, the tape on Pin 14 with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 features two different adhesives applied to a thin acrylic foam core. The liner-side adhesive delivers very high initial and final adhesion for traditional and modern automotive paint systems. The non-liner-side adhesive is excellent for bonding to automotive trim and other components. The 0.5 mm viscoelastic foam core is engineered for stress relaxation when exposed to high stress loads and maintains bond-line aesthetics under normal stress loads. The gray color of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 gives a pleasing bond-line aesthetic. The liner enhances die-cutting and provides easy one-piece release for efficient application. Use of a 3M™ Adhesion Promoter is recommended for tape-to-part adhesion with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5392 on all parts, especially plastics such as reaction injection molding (RIM), thermoplastic olefin (TPO), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polypropylene (PP) and polycarbonate (PC).
