3M™ Green Corps™ Sanding Abrasive File Belt removes spot weld and hem flanges as well as grinds in tight areas for fast and efficient removal of paint, corrosion and rust. Aluminum oxide abrasive delivers a fast cut and long life.
These file belts can quickly remove stock in tight areas while allowing technicians increased control over other methods of structural disassembly. A grinding aid allows for cooler grinding, which reduces heat on the surface of metal substrates to preserve structural integrity.
Aluminum oxide is a popular abrasive among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives quickly wear down with use. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, it is widely used in grinding applications. The abrasive has been resin bonded for heat resistance.
