The 3M™ Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander packs the performance of 3M air-powered orbital hand sanders into a small tool that’s ideal for sanding small defects in painted surfaces. Added features for durability, comfort and control, plus twist-on, twist-off Roloc™ disc attachment, give this mini sander big benefits – now, you can sand small areas instead of entire panels, saving time and cost.
Big Benefits for Small Area Repair
Strong, light and easy to use, our 3M™ Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander is an air-powered hand sanding tool that's ideal for repairing small defects in small painted areas. It measures approx. 4" x 7-1/2" and weighs just over 1 lb., a versatile hand-sized replacement for larger air sanders and polishers. Its 1-1/4" diameter backup pad and 1/8" orbit uses smaller abrasive discs and allows you to sand in very specific or hard-to-reach areas, allowing you to remove nibs and other defects without sanding the entire panel— a process that can become inefficient in environments such as collision repair shops, where panels can be quite large and require extra abrasives, compounds and polishes.
Power in the Palm of Your Hand
The Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander includes several updates that make it a true powerhouse for small area repair. It features precision-balanced steel workings and a .48 HP (357 W) motor capable of up to 8000 RPM standard operation. The lightweight aluminum body and durable composite cover combine with strengthened vanes and an improved skirt attachment for extra balance and reduced vibration. This nearly eliminates downtime caused by cracked housings. The handle is covered in our exclusive 3M™ Gripping Material for greater comfort. And a custom trigger lever gives technicians maximum control for consistently excellent results in areas that require fine-grade precision.
Easy Roloc™ Attachment
The Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander accepts our direct-mount 1-1/4" 3M™ Roloc™ pads which allow you to operate the sander very close to the work surface for more precise control. The pad features a threaded button that lets you securely attach and remove it with a simple twist-off, twist-on motion. This quick and convenient attachment method requires no tools and saves significant time on collision repair jobs.
Our Trizact™ Abrasives
This mini sander is part of our Trizact™ Finesse-It™ Paint Repair System which puts our Trizact™ abrasives at your fingertips. For more predictable finishes and improved, consistent quality, 3M™ Trizact™ products feature microreplication — small 3-dimensional structures are reproduced uniformly over the surface of the abrasive. These patterned, precise mineral structures contain multiple layers of abrasive mineral. As the structures wear, fresh, sharp mineral is exposed. The result is that the abrasive cuts faster, allows for precise finish control, and stays sharper longer — operators can even reduce grade sequences during collision repair, requiring fewer process steps and fewer abrasive products.
Part of Our Advanced Paint Defect Repair Systems
The 3M™ Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander is an excellent addition to complete paint repair systems — select 3M abrasives, pads and polishes developed specifically for small area repair. These include our Trizact™ Finesse-It™ Paint Repair System (PDF, 8 Mb), which allows you to remove imperfections and polish fine sanding scratches in just two simple steps. The mini sander is also a terrific option for added capabilities to our 3M™ Paint Defect Removal Hand Sanding System, featuring small, handheld abrasives and blocks for fast and efficient paint nib and defect removal.
The Science of Better Sanding from 3M
The Elite Series Mini Orbital Sander is another example of how 3M applies science to life — and makes life easier and more productive for environments where the finest abrasives are required. With its exclusive features and its design that makes it integral to our advanced small area paint repair systems, this mini sander is another key to consistently improving your efficiency, throughput and value as you prepare painted surfaces.
