3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5356 features a thick 1.52 mm acrylic foam core designed for robust performance even on complex contours and difficult automotive paint surfaces. It adapts well to complex geometries and delivers excellent wet-out for a consistent and durable bond even to heavier parts. The adhesive on both sides is formulated for very high initial and final adhesion.

3M recommends the use of 3M™ Adhesion Promoter for tape-to-part adhesion with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5314 on all parts

Designed for High Adhesion to a Range of Automotive Surfaces
Developed specifically for attaching exterior trim and other parts to automotive surfaces, our 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5356 features a thick, gray, 1.52 mm acrylic foam core with a performance acrylic adhesive applied to both sides. This adhesive is formulated for high initial and final adhesion to a wide range of trim and parts as well as automotive paint systems including rigid clear coats. The viscoelastic foam core conforms well even to complex contours. It is engineered for stress relaxation when exposed to high stress loads, and maintains bond-line aesthetics under normal stress loads. The gray color of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5356 gives a pleasing bond line aesthetic. A red liner printed with the 3M logo provides easy one-piece release for efficient application.

3M recommends the use of 3M™ Adhesion Promoter for tape-to-part adhesion with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5314 on all parts, especially plastics such as RIM, TPO, PPO, PP and PC.

The 3M branded liner (PDF, 147.53 Kb) features a subtle 3M logo marking to provide evidence to the customer that they are receiving the 3M quality they expect from their purchase. The liner makes our tapes easy to identify and difficult to imitate. The proprietary branding technology is designed to help identification of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape.
