3M™ Attachment Tape 4981, Clear, 0.2 mm

3M™ Attachment Tape 4981, Clear, 0.2 mm is a medium-density, clear, heat-activated automotive attachment tape system used to attach weatherstripping and/or gasket seals for automotive and industrial applications.

A clear acrylic tape constructed with two different adhesives, 3M™ Attachment Tape 4981, Clear, 0.2 mm features a heat-activated adhesive on the non-liner side and a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive on the liner side. The heat-activated adhesive forms an immediate, consistent and durable bond to most EPDM formulations and Santoprene® materials. The pressure-sensitive adhesive delivers high adhesion and holding strength to many surfaces, including automotive paints and metals. It securely attaches weatherstripping and gasket seals for automotive and industrial applications and is recommended for applications where the substrate surface is smooth and there is minimal stress on the bond line between the matching substrates. 3M tape 4981 comes with a polyethylene liner for easy one-piece release for efficient application. For applications in which tabbing is necessary, we recommend 3M™ Tabbing Tape 5400.
