3M™ Acrylic Plus Tape PT1500 features two adhesives, one on each side of a viscoelastic acrylic foam core, designed for robust performance even on complex contours and difficult automotive paint surfaces. The unique foam core provides stress relaxation when exposed to high application loads, while maintaining tight bond-line aesthetics under normal conditions.

Developed specifically for attaching exterior trim and other parts to automotive paint surfaces, our 3M™ Acrylic Plus Tape PT1500 is 1.52 mm thick and features an acrylic foam core with two different adhesives.
1. 3M Branded liner
Easy to identify, difficult to imitate: The red, 3M branded liner on 3M™ Acrylic Plus Tapes allows customers to quickly confirm that they are receiving the 3M quality they expect from their purchase.2. Liner side adhesive
The liner side adhesive is formulated for very high initial and final adhesion to rigid automotive clear coats as well as many scratch- and mar-resistant paint systems with Medium Surface Energy. This adhesive has been proven time and again for decades.3. Viscoelastic acrylic foam core
Exclusive to 3M, the acrylic foam core of 3M™ Acrylic Plus Tapes is engineered for stress relaxation when exposed to high stress loads, and conforms reliably even when the surface is curved or angled. It maintains consistent bondline aesthetics under normal stress loads.4. Non-liner side adhesive
Non-liner side adhesive is excellent for bonding to automotive trim and other components made of a wide variety of metals and plastics. An adhesion promoter is recommended for optimal bonding to plastic parts.

Frequently asked questions
3M™ Acrylic Plus Tape PT Series is a family of dark gray, double-coated acrylic foam tapes. These tapes offer the following key features: high conformability; dark gray, high-strength core; cold temperature impact resistance; and easy liner release.
Typical applications for this tape include: attaching exterior trim components such as appliques, claddings, spoilers, body side moldings, chromed trim, wheel arches, wheel flares, etc. Contact a 3M application engineer for more details.
Currently the product is available in 0.4 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.1 mm and 1.5 mm caliper configurations. The product is available in all standard widths provided by 3M today.
The recommended tabbing option for 3M Acrylic Plus Tape PT Series is the use of extended liner tabs. For applications where an extended liner tab may not be an option, there is a heat-tabbable liner option available. For heat-bond tabbing we recommend 3M™ Tabbing Tape 5400 or 3M™ Tabbing Tape 5081. For PSA tabbing we recommend 3M™ Tabbing and Splicing Tape 5300.
