3M™ Novec™ 5110 Insulating Gas is a sustainable alternative to sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆). This is an advanced insulation medium with excellent electrical insulation performance. Novec 5110 gas in pure form has a relative dielectric strength 1.4 times greater than SF₆ at a given pressure.
With a GWP of less than 1 and strong dielectric properties, Novec 5110 gas is a sustainable alternative to SF₆ for arc quenching and insulation applications leading to dramatic environmental impact reductions in gas insulated equipment. Novec 5110 gas is non-flammable and has a wide safety margin for workers when used as designed for intended applications.
