(SPEECH) [MUSIC PLAYING] (DESCRIPTION) 3M. (SPEECH) Let's get building smarter. Today, you will learn about 3M's new electrical box insert and how its versatility and usability can help make fire protection for electrical outlets. Simple. Electrical box inserts are designed to restore ratings and fire resistance-rated walls where electrical boxes have been installed. This can help contain fire and potentially minimize damage to a building infrastructure. EBIs are approved as a code compliant option for protecting various electrical boxes, including installations requiring acoustic ratings. 3M's EBI is also approved for use in a variety of electrical box sizes. (DESCRIPTION) Stats. (SPEECH) It's flexible and easy to use. Plus, it has a number of other great features, including 3M's newest intumescent technology, hyper-GS. (DESCRIPTION) Bending pad. (SPEECH) The electrical box insert also provides a fully adhesive-backed pad for better coverage during installation. And pre-cut slits allow for easy installation and access to the wiring. 3M electrical box inserts are approved for a variety of electrical outlet box materials, including metal boxes, metal and plastic cover plates, double gang, and electrical boxes installed back-to-back on both sides of a wall. What makes this product even more versatile? Not only is this flexible insert easy to install, it's also a great option for both new construction and retrofit applications. Applying the 3M electrical box insert is as easy as one, two three. Peel off the adhesive liner, position it for application, and stick it to the back of the box. That's all you have to do. It's just that simple. Using 3M electrical box insert can be especially beneficial when fire protection is needed, but you don't have access to the exterior back of the box. They can be used in new construction, retrofitted into existing buildings, or in off-site prefabrication. A truly versatile product. Thanks for joining us for this video today.
