3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F features Precision Shaped Grain on a water resistant XF/YF weight backing. Our 997F belts are suitable for high pressure grinding applications on stainless steel, mild steel, tool steels, cobalt, SG iron, nickel alloys and titanium.

Use 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F featuring Precision Shaped Grain, for an exceptionally fast cut and a long lasting abrasive. Our 997F belts have a water resistant polyester cloth XF/XY backing, allowing them to be used wet or dry. Precision Shaped Grain forms into triangular points that slice through metal rather than gouging or ploughing like traditional abrasives. These points continuously self-sharpen as they fracture, generating an extremely fast cut – making this belt ideal for industrial environments. The abrasive is heat resistant, produces a uniform finish over its life and helps eliminate burning during end-grain sanding applications. Our 997F belts are suitable for high pressure grinding applications on stainless steel, mild steel, tool steels, cobalt, SG iron, nickel alloys and titanium. The XF/XY weight cloth backing provides durability and has the mineral is resin bonded to it for reliable performance, even under high heat and pressure. These belts contain a grinding aid, which helps reduce running temperatures. This protects heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys from stress cracks and discolouration.
