3M™ Mini Stack Connector Wiremount Socket 3S5 Series features a simple termination method that replaces crimp-style connections, helping save up to 60% wiring time for sensor wire and similar connections when using the using the 3M™ Mini Stack Connector Hand Tool. A double Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) termination process makes stable metal-to-metal contact in two places on each wire, and allows for termination of 2 to 4 wires simultaneously without stripping. Thin, compact connectors can be stacked into blocks of up to four, and plug securely into 3M™ Mini Stack Connector Boardmount Header 3S6 Series. 3M Mini Stack header 3S5 series is compatible with wire gauges from 30AWG to 22AWG.

3M™ Mini Stack Connector socket 3S5 series can help save up to 60% on wiring time vs. crimp-style connectors. It eliminates wire stripping. There’s also no need to insert individual terminated wires into the contact. You can terminate up to four wires simultaneously. That means more time, more connections, more robust designs.

    3M Mini Stack socket 3S5 series are thin, compact and stackable. Contacts are integrated into the sockets, so there’s only a single part to manage. Handling is easier and there’s no need to purchase and inventory sockets and contacts separately.

    Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) termination

    Each contact features double Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) termination. With one squeeze of the 3M Mini Stack hand tool, technicians can make stable metal-to-metal contact in two places on each wire. Terminated wires slide into the socket in one easy motion. The 3M Mini Stack hand tool is required tooling for the 3M™ Mini Stack Connector Series.

    Easy mating and unmating

    3M™ Mini Stack socket 3S5 series can be stacked into blocks of up to four connectors, simplifying wiring schematics and helping create more board space. Individual or stacked connectors plug securely into 3M™ Mini Stack header 3S6 series. These combinations help reduce board footprint up to 30% vs. 3M™ Mini-Clamp Connector Series. 3M Mini Stack header 3S6 series also features center latches that hold connectors securely in place but still allow them to be easily unmated and remated as needed.

    For use with the 3M™ Mini Stack Connector Hand Tool

    This compact, ergonomically-designed tool enables simple IDC termination with 3M Mini Stack socket 3S5 series for sensor wire and other connections manufacturing equipment. Required tooling for the 3M Mini Stack connector series, it features a holder for the wiremount socket, along with a wire guide that allows technicians to quickly align wires with the socket row. With one squeeze, the tool terminates 2 to 4 wires simultaneously without the need for stripping, and sets them into the socket. Operators simply insert the terminated wires into the socket with one simple motion.
