The UN Manual of Tests and Criteria contains criteria, test methods and procedures to be used for the classification of dangerous goods pursuant to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations. Sub-section 38.3 of the Manual requires manufactures of lithium batteries to conduct a series of safety tests on the batteries and to generate Lithium Battery Test Summary (LBTS) reports for each battery, which must be made available upon request at all points in the supply chain. As a service to its customers, 3M has made all LBTS reports for 3M products available in electronic form. Customers can access these LBTS reports using the search window on this web page. For more information, please contact 1-800-364-3577 or 651-737-6501 for assistance with identifying 3M ID numbers for specific products.
Please note: The LBTS reports contained in this search database are based fully and solely upon data provided by the manufacturer of each battery. With the exception of LBTS reports for batteries manufactured by 3M, 3M was not involved in the testing process for the batteries. 3M makes no warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, adequacy, completeness, legality, reliability, currency or usefulness of any information of any of the LBTS reports. Any questions regarding the content of the LBTS reports should be directed to the appropriate battery manufacturer.
